The perfumer

The perfumer is an artist who is capable of conveying abstract concepts and moods with their fragrance composition.

They are often called “the Nose” and has the unique capacity to memorize scents.
The perfumer harmonizes the composition and the concept of the fragrance and carefully selects and blends multiple perfume mixtures that capture the desired feelings.

Oriflame works with the best perfumers in the world.
Some of them also develop fragrances for Hugo Boss, Armani, Dior, Lancôme and Lacoste for example.

Types of fragrance

Quality and long-lastingness of fragrances primarily depend on the quality of the fragrance oil followed by the concentration level of the oil.

Parfum – Around 20% concentration. Lasts all day long.
Eau de Parfum (EdP) – 15% or more concentration. Lasts 4 to 5 hours.
Eau de Toilette (EdT)/ Parfum de toilette – up to 14% concentration. Lasts 2 to 4 hours.
Eau de Cologne (EdC) – 2 to 3% concentration. Lasts about 2 hours.

As the percentage concentration decreases, so does the intensity and longevity of the scent.
